How to fix minecraft stuck on downloading terrain

Stuck on "loading terrain". Help. Hey so my friends and I made a new server and used the same server host to make a world. They don't have this issue but for me it gets stuck on 'loading terrain' for about 30 seconds and it'll either join or instantly disconnect me from it. Anyone else having this issue/know a fix?
